Yes, Another Todo App But This One Actually Worksโ„ข โœจ

Hi, I'm Ola. I built SymphonyTodo because apparently the world needed the 47,293rd todo app. My wife Leisa uses it (reluctantly), my kids Erik and Zoe think it's "pretty cool," and with help from my AI buddies Claude and Copilot, I think it's turning out quite good :)

  • Works on your phone, tablet, toaster - okay, maybe not the toaster
  • Dark mode because your eyes deserve better than mine
  • Watch your teammates procrastinate in real-time
  • Works even when your WiFi doesn't (looking at you, coffee shops)
  • Special weekend section for "things I'll definitely do this time"
  • Your tasks are safe from everyone except the NSA (probably)

Problems That Made Me Build This Thing

Click on each frustration to see how I tried to fix it (spoiler: I think I actually did).

"Wait, aren't you doing that?"

Three people doing the same task while the important stuff sits ignored. It's like a Three Stooges episode, but with spreadsheets.

"Which tab was that task in again?"

Slack, Teams, Trello, Asana, your email, that sticky note - by the time you find what you're looking for, you've forgotten why you needed it.

"Is this from 2019 or yesterday?"

Your task list is a archaeological dig site. That urgent task from three sprints ago? Still marked as "high priority." Meanwhile, actual urgent stuff gets buried.

"Why is this button the size of an ant?"

Mobile interfaces designed by people who apparently have styluses for fingers. Good luck updating tasks while walking to your next meeting.

What Makes This One Different โœจ

Actually Works Like an App ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Thanks to PWA magic (and a lot of coffee), it installs like a real app and works when your internet doesn't. Claude helped me figure out the service worker stuff.

Easy on the Eyes ๐Ÿ‘€

Dark mode that doesn't burn your retinas at 2 AM. Automatically switches with your system settings because I'm thoughtful like that. My eyes aren't getting any younger.

Actually Real-Time โšก

Watch your team complete tasks in real-time. Or more likely, watch them assign tasks to each other. SignalR makes it all magical and instantaneous.

iPhone Friendly ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Works perfectly on iOS because I spent way too many hours figuring out Safari's quirks. Your notch? Handled. Your gestures? Supported. Apple's approval? Still pending.

Weekend Dreams Section ๐Ÿ–๏ธ

A special place for all those optimistic weekend plans. "Clean garage," "learn Spanish," "finally organize photos." We both know you'll just watch Netflix, but the list looks nice.

Human-Sized Buttons ๐Ÿ‘†

Designed for actual human fingers, not styluses. Drag, drop, swipe - it all works intuitively because I tested it extensively while avoiding real work.

Future Dreams & Schemes ๐Ÿš€

Here's what I'm planning to build when I'm not chasing my kids around or explaining to Leisa why I need "just five more minutes" to fix this one bug.

Productivity Surveillance

Fancy charts showing exactly how much time you spend "researching" on Reddit. Identify bottlenecks (spoiler: it's usually meetings).

AI That Actually Helps

Claude and Copilot taught me well. This AI will learn your team's habits and suggest who should do what (hint: not the person who always says "I'll get to it next week").

What My Captive Audience Says ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Reviews from my family, who were voluntarily forced to be my beta testers. They're legally required to be honest.

"Finally, Ola made something useful! I can now assign him tasks like 'take out the trash' and he can't pretend he forgot. The real-time updates mean I can watch him mark it as 'in progress' for 3 hours. โญ"

Leisa
Ola's Wife & Chief Task Inspector
"Daddy's app is so cool! I made a list of all my LEGO sets and my Pokemon cards. But the best part is I can make a list called 'Times Zoe Was Mean to Me' and she can't delete it! I also keep track of my chores so I can get my allowance. ๐ŸŽ†"
๐ŸŽฎ
Erik
Ola's Son & Professional Sibling Tracker
"Dad's app is actually really awesome! I use it for my homework checklist and to organize my arts and crafts projects. I also made a secret list called 'Annoying Things Erik Does' that I can show Mom when he bugs me. The purple colors are so pretty! โœจ"
